You are reading through Facebook, and you catch a story, it could be about a President meeting some lost tourists or some historical event.
We saw a story about a Military Deserter on ‘Yesterday’s Wisdom‘, and it sounded really good, but some parts didn’t seem to be right.

You would think that such a monumental mistake would be all over the internet but as some pointed out, if Pittsburgh is in America, then the story is rubbish as the United States joined the war later on in 1917.
It also mentions the Military Police, but the Military Police Corps was not established until 1941.
There was a Private in the American Civil War named William Morrison, he was mistakenly listed as a deserter, and it was found out after his death when his widow tried to claim his pension.
Stories like this show how easy it is to sucker people in on the internet as it is shared from person to person and more people end up reading it and commenting on it ensuring that it keeps on spreading.
